P.O.R.N. Diets

I am coining this term as I feel some of the diets out there are so radical they need to be discussed in one place.

We here from our favorite celebrities daily and some of us live for this. We follow them on Twitter, talk about them on Bebo and MySpace or e mail each other about them especially when a new diet is talked about.

There have been some over the top radical diets in the past like the 'Air diet', not a very popular one for obvious reasons unlike the 'Chocolate' diet. Then there is the more main stream 'Atkins' diet or 'The Dash Diet' or even 'The South Beach Diet'. All have there plus and minus points and their advocates and nay sayers as well.

The trick when it comes to diets if there is a trick in selecting one would be to thoroughly research the topic. The mere fact that there literally are thousands of diets commercially available shown on television, billboards or even your local Chemist shop.

Here will be many, many articles pertaining to the topic of P.O.R.N. Diets circulating our media and your opinion on them is most welcome. Maybe you have been on one and would like to praise it or maybe warn others away from it. Whatever you may like to share, diet related, please do.

Weight Loss Misinformation Can Sabotage Your Efforts~Don't Fall Victim to These Dieting Myths~Weight Loss Advice: Don't Believe Everything You Hear

By Stacey May

Maybe you've often thought about starting a weight loss diet. But if it appeared to be too much work or too hard to figure out, maybe you decided against it. Listening to some of the dieting advice that's so readily available, you'll find that there are a lot of myths. Our goal here is to disprove several of them.

1. The most popular of dieting myths is that the best way to lose weight is by cutting out as much food and calories as you can. This way of dieting can be highly damaging to your health. Because your system believes there's a shortage of food, it won't let go of its fat very easily.

2. In our search for quick weight loss, another myth will instruct us to eat just a certain kind of food. More eating binges have been caused by the latest single-food fad diet than anything out there. Following dangerous fad diets means your body's not getting the necessary nutrients it needs to fight off illnesses and stay healthy.

3. Perhaps you've read that you must never stray from your eating plan, even the tiniest bit. If you do slip up, you have to make up for it by exercising for long hours. This is totally wrong. Really, you can have that piece of chocolate cake occasionally. You only need to adjust your calorie intake for the day. If you indulged yourself a little too much, a punishing workout certainly isn't necessary.

4. One myth you may hear is the one that says you can't eat before you go to bed, because you'll get fat in your sleep. But this is wrong; dieting is just a healthy style of eating and keeping an eye on how many calories you take in throughout the day. Having a light snack before bed isn't going to make a big difference. But not if you're indulging in a full meal or a vat of cookie dough ice cream.

5. Maybe you've heard of the one that tells you not to eat at all between established mealtimes? Snacks are actually part of a healthy eating style. Consume several mini meals through your day and your hunger won't overwhelm you. By eliminating snacks between meals, you're only going to make yourself hungrier at meal times. This can cause you to eat a lot more than you really need just to satisfy your hunger.

6. There's another myth that says you shouldn't consume any dairy products at all because they're too fattening. But there are many essential nutrients contained in dairy products, so it's unwise to completely cut them from your eating plan. Indeed, there is research indicating that regular consumption of dairy products can lead to dropped pounds. Just make sure you limit your amounts and go for the low-fat versions.

Avoid being conned by all the myths about weight loss that abound on various websites. Nutritious, mindful eating along with regular exercise can be the combination that will help you with your healthy weight loss.
