P.O.R.N. Diets

I am coining this term as I feel some of the diets out there are so radical they need to be discussed in one place.

We here from our favorite celebrities daily and some of us live for this. We follow them on Twitter, talk about them on Bebo and MySpace or e mail each other about them especially when a new diet is talked about.

There have been some over the top radical diets in the past like the 'Air diet', not a very popular one for obvious reasons unlike the 'Chocolate' diet. Then there is the more main stream 'Atkins' diet or 'The Dash Diet' or even 'The South Beach Diet'. All have there plus and minus points and their advocates and nay sayers as well.

The trick when it comes to diets if there is a trick in selecting one would be to thoroughly research the topic. The mere fact that there literally are thousands of diets commercially available shown on television, billboards or even your local Chemist shop.

Here will be many, many articles pertaining to the topic of P.O.R.N. Diets circulating our media and your opinion on them is most welcome. Maybe you have been on one and would like to praise it or maybe warn others away from it. Whatever you may like to share, diet related, please do.

Weight Reduction Products - What They Are and How Well They Work

By Paul Mancini

Slimming patches are available almost everywhere that you look. You will discover them at chemist shops, on the web and in fashion magazines.

There are thousands of reasons why lots of folks like to drop a few pounds. Lots of folks simply like to uphold their thin figure. They believe that it is fashionable to stay slender. For such individuals, the smallest weight gain poses a chronic problem for them. Others want to reduce their weight for fitness reasons. It is a widely known fact that there is a direct relationship between body fat percentage and diseases such as diabetes. Some muscle builders and other athletes would also like to mitigate body fat so they can develop muscles for optimal operation.

Though active exercise regimens and various work outs have been recommended as slimming alternatives, many men and women still turn to drugs and herbal supplements to trim their fat.

Slimming supplements fall into 2 main types - doctor prescribed pills and non prescription medications. Non prescription pills are those that you can easily get over the counter. The FDA applies scant oversight to Over the counter pills. Examples of over the counter pills come from companies like General Nutrition. Prescription fat reduction medications are subject to greater oversight and can only be purchased with a doctor's script. An example is Orlistat. We can further subdivide by the way they help the consumer to reduce weight. Some supplements actually burn fat by increasing metabolism while others contain appetite so the person doesn't crave food. Still others modulate absorption of lipids into the system, and others cleanse the GI tract of fatty waste. So each weight loss drug or pill works in a different way to achieve similar outcomes.

How well weight reducing pills work for a person relies on a lot of factors. Some supplements or patches work best if they are coupled with an exercise routine or a strict intake of food. Others work if consistently used whilst many can help the dieter achieve her objectives in the longer term. So in the choice of fat reduction products, the dieter has to take a close look at her lifestyle, medical condition and dietary preferences before commencing.

Of growing usage are the herb based slimming supplements. These are drugs mainly derived from plants. They are usually thought of as safer versions to the synthetic ones that may have serious side effects in the long term. Of all herbal based lipid reducing medications, green tea appears to be the most common. It is found in almost every herbal weight loss supplement. Green tea is an antioxidant that helps the body to lose weight by lowering cholesterol levels.

Popular fat reduction products include Slim 365 which contains the extracts from plants such as Gordonii and Green Tea. These ingredients curb appetite and increase metabolism to help burn off excess energy. Mahuang was another weight loss pill that was in common usage until recently. It contains the herbal extract Mahuang which is a form pseudoephedrine which can vastly alter metabolic rate. The Food and drug administration has nixed the sale of supplements containing Mahuang due to potentially deadly side effects. Rimonabant is another common supplement that contains an appetite mitigator. It will not directly affect your body fat or burn it off, but rather make you consume eat far less.

Fat reduction is a problem that many people are living with. The market therefore abounds with a variety of methods to help people stay slim. Your choice of diet capsules must take into consideration your own personal situation if you want to get the right results.
