P.O.R.N. Diets

I am coining this term as I feel some of the diets out there are so radical they need to be discussed in one place.

We here from our favorite celebrities daily and some of us live for this. We follow them on Twitter, talk about them on Bebo and MySpace or e mail each other about them especially when a new diet is talked about.

There have been some over the top radical diets in the past like the 'Air diet', not a very popular one for obvious reasons unlike the 'Chocolate' diet. Then there is the more main stream 'Atkins' diet or 'The Dash Diet' or even 'The South Beach Diet'. All have there plus and minus points and their advocates and nay sayers as well.

The trick when it comes to diets if there is a trick in selecting one would be to thoroughly research the topic. The mere fact that there literally are thousands of diets commercially available shown on television, billboards or even your local Chemist shop.

Here will be many, many articles pertaining to the topic of P.O.R.N. Diets circulating our media and your opinion on them is most welcome. Maybe you have been on one and would like to praise it or maybe warn others away from it. Whatever you may like to share, diet related, please do.

By Karen Lynch

Persons have long searched for the obscure fountain of youth. Many have longed for the phenomenon cure that would stop the progress of all of the usual decline of aging. It may be surprising to some but the fact is that we have had it all along.

To halt the average declines associated with aging, one may have to look no further than the local supermarket, health food store or farmers market. Research now indicates that as much as 85% of all age-related illnesses can be avoided through exceptional nourishment and a good for your health diet. A exceedingly nutritious diet can stop the estimated decline that is related with aging.

A inventory of the best superfoods includes many plenteous and delectable things that people have been eating for millennia. Some of these foods have been staple items in specific parts of the world, and one of these foods was maligned at one time and thought to be lethal.

Berries top the list of one of the healthiest foods constantly. Most berries are rich in a plant-based flavonoid called anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are actually the deep purple pigment that gives berries their vivid colors. Blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and grapes fit into this grouping. The small acai berry actually has the utmost antioxidant capability of any particular food ever found in nature and it has long been a staple food for the natives of the Brazilian rainforest providing up to 45% or their diet.

Tomatoes are high in nutrients that can prevent the degeneration of aging. Tomatoes are loaded in lycopene, which is a mighty antioxidant. Lycopene assists in the hindrance of heart disease by protecting the blood vessels from oxidative destruction. Lycopene has also been proven to thwart certain types of cancer, including lung cancer and prostate cancer. Surprisingly, the tomato is essentially more wholesome when it is processed and heated, such as in spaghetti sauce, than when it is raw. Adding a healthy fat such as olive oil also boosts the nourishment because it is fat-soluble.

The tomato is one of the superfoods with a lively history. Back in the 1500's most Europeans believed that the tomato was venomous. At the time most of the flatware was made of pewter, which has a high-lead content. The tomato, being a high-acid food would instigate the lead to leech out into the food, resulting in lead poisoning and death. Only the poor people of the time ate tomatoes because they did not have pewter flatware but rather flatware made of wood.

Look for colors when you look for anti-aging foods. Greens, such as spinach, kale, romaine lettuce, dandelion greens, Swiss chard and more are extremely healthful. Orange foods like pumpkin, carrots, sweet potatoes should be included. And beans and legumes, nuts and seeds, Tea, red wine and dark chocolate are also excellent foods to avoid the problems of aging.

The mysterious fountain of youth has been with us all along. We just need to incorporate more of the inherent, good for you and whole foods that nature has provided us with and remove the processed and fake foods that are so common in our diets.
