P.O.R.N. Diets

I am coining this term as I feel some of the diets out there are so radical they need to be discussed in one place.

We here from our favorite celebrities daily and some of us live for this. We follow them on Twitter, talk about them on Bebo and MySpace or e mail each other about them especially when a new diet is talked about.

There have been some over the top radical diets in the past like the 'Air diet', not a very popular one for obvious reasons unlike the 'Chocolate' diet. Then there is the more main stream 'Atkins' diet or 'The Dash Diet' or even 'The South Beach Diet'. All have there plus and minus points and their advocates and nay sayers as well.

The trick when it comes to diets if there is a trick in selecting one would be to thoroughly research the topic. The mere fact that there literally are thousands of diets commercially available shown on television, billboards or even your local Chemist shop.

Here will be many, many articles pertaining to the topic of P.O.R.N. Diets circulating our media and your opinion on them is most welcome. Maybe you have been on one and would like to praise it or maybe warn others away from it. Whatever you may like to share, diet related, please do.

WEIGHT LOSS by eating certain foods? Yes, if they influence your hormones

There is a unique method of weight loss. What is it? By eating only certain foods.

Those who use this method attain to weight loss say that different foods have different effects on the various hormones that govern our body.

Well, that being said, what are Hormones and what do they control inside our bodies? The Hormone Foundation, describes hormones in this way:

The endocrine system is one of the bodys main systems for communicating, controlling and coordinating the bodys work. It works with the nervous system, reproductive system, kidneys, gut, liver, pancreas and fat to help maintain and control the following:

* body energy levels

* reproduction

* growth and development

* internal balance of body systems, called homeostasis

* responses to surroundings, stress and/or injury

The endocrine system accomplishes these tasks via a network of glands and organs that produce, store, and secrete certain types of hormones. Hormones are special chemicals that move into body fluid after they are made by one cell or a group of cells. Different types of hormones cause different effects on other cells or tissues of the body.

Thus, there is a scientific basis for this approach to Weight Loss. One of the principles stated by those who advocate this method is that you are fat because of what you eat.

This appears to be a different method for weight loss. Sure, there have been countless eat this diet recommendations.

The following statement sums up this philosophy:

Do you know why you are fat? Well, it is not because of parasites, it is not because of toxins, and it is not because of your genetics. It happens because you are eating food that is designed to make you fat!

There is much talk about how giant food corporations design and produce foods that will make you fat. Whether or not these statements are overstated or not, there appears to be some truth to the idea that today's widely used foods are much different from natural foods.

Do foods alter your hormone level? There is evidence that this is true, which leads to the conclusion that perhaps the hormone approach to Weight Loss has something to offer.
