P.O.R.N. Diets

I am coining this term as I feel some of the diets out there are so radical they need to be discussed in one place.

We here from our favorite celebrities daily and some of us live for this. We follow them on Twitter, talk about them on Bebo and MySpace or e mail each other about them especially when a new diet is talked about.

There have been some over the top radical diets in the past like the 'Air diet', not a very popular one for obvious reasons unlike the 'Chocolate' diet. Then there is the more main stream 'Atkins' diet or 'The Dash Diet' or even 'The South Beach Diet'. All have there plus and minus points and their advocates and nay sayers as well.

The trick when it comes to diets if there is a trick in selecting one would be to thoroughly research the topic. The mere fact that there literally are thousands of diets commercially available shown on television, billboards or even your local Chemist shop.

Here will be many, many articles pertaining to the topic of P.O.R.N. Diets circulating our media and your opinion on them is most welcome. Maybe you have been on one and would like to praise it or maybe warn others away from it. Whatever you may like to share, diet related, please do.

Losing Weight After Pregnancy

By Steve Esquire

Pregnancy is a beautiful time in a woman's life that brings with it a glorious blessing after nine months. A few fortunate women sail through their pregnancies and their bodies bounce back without a hitch or any additional weight gain. For the majority of the women though this is not the case. The key to getting the weight off is diet, exercise and massage chair therapy.

The body during pregnancy goes through some tremendous changes. There is a build up of weight gain for most women until child birth. Immediately after giving birth women will have excess weight, but remember two lives were just being supported. At least during the first three weeks after birth, weight will drop do to heavier than normal sweating and more frequent urination as the body lessens the level of fluid.

However, you need to prepare yourself for the worst case scenario. Understanding why you have this additional weight gain and realizing that it is only temporary is necessary for your emotional well-being. It can be conquered and you will lose the extra weight with hard work, perseverance, and an iron will.

Life works in cycles, pregnancy is just one of those cycles. The connection between diet, exercise and massage is one of the most basic. Our body goes through cycles of requiring nourishment, activity and recovery. This is what the triad of diet, exercise and massage does to balance the body and mind.

Start with your diet. Do you eat fresh or processed foods? Be real and honest. The diet is a function of budget and cooking experience. You can either afford to buy prepared healthy foods or make them yourself. Find a way to incorporate FRESH food. These are the ones that are not frozen. Use frozen meats like chicken and fish and make with vegetables. Get an indoor Grill instead of deep frying.

If you frequently eat fast food, then this becomes challenging with the high levels of sodium. Sodium helps the body to retain water which after pregnancy that means weight. A substantial part of your weight gain during pregnancy is from the weight of water. You have to ingest a lot of water. The other item to watch is soda pop. The high concentrations of sugar also work against losing weight. Bottled water will do you just fine.

Exercise is always an important part of the equation. How fast or slow you burn energy can help or hinder weight loss. Always consult with your doctor as to what types of exercise and when exercise is appropriate for you. But start with simple things like taking baby for a walk. You get to push the stroller and baby gets to see the world.

Did you know that breastfeeding is a dieters dream? Breast feeding can wipe out up to 500 calories a day when you breastfeed. If you do breastfeed, you must make sure that you are getting adequate nutrition during this time. Discuss this with your physician and find out how you can lose weight while breastfeeding.

Massage therapy has been used throughout the ages for recovery and healing. Your body goes through tremendous changes during pregnancy and after as well. You have to deal with improving your diet and exercising. You also need time for your to recover. A quick massage from a massage chair is ideal. Its the friend you need, when you need. Relief is finally on your schedule.

Stepping on the scale after pregnancy can be very intimidating and you may be very hesitant. Ease up on yourself and remember what your body has been through. You have just given life and your body was stretched to the max. Since the pregnancy process occurred over a 9-month period of time, allow yourself at least 9 months to get yourself back into shape again.

Check with your physician and get their suggestions on how you can regain your pre-pregnancy figure. Consult your physician about these suggestions, to find out the proper nutrition, diet, exercise program and massage chair therapy that you have in mind.
