P.O.R.N. Diets

I am coining this term as I feel some of the diets out there are so radical they need to be discussed in one place.

We here from our favorite celebrities daily and some of us live for this. We follow them on Twitter, talk about them on Bebo and MySpace or e mail each other about them especially when a new diet is talked about.

There have been some over the top radical diets in the past like the 'Air diet', not a very popular one for obvious reasons unlike the 'Chocolate' diet. Then there is the more main stream 'Atkins' diet or 'The Dash Diet' or even 'The South Beach Diet'. All have there plus and minus points and their advocates and nay sayers as well.

The trick when it comes to diets if there is a trick in selecting one would be to thoroughly research the topic. The mere fact that there literally are thousands of diets commercially available shown on television, billboards or even your local Chemist shop.

Here will be many, many articles pertaining to the topic of P.O.R.N. Diets circulating our media and your opinion on them is most welcome. Maybe you have been on one and would like to praise it or maybe warn others away from it. Whatever you may like to share, diet related, please do.

Do Weight Loss Diet Pills Work?

By Denise Herman

Manufacturers are quick to point out that their weight loss diet pills only contain natural substances. They should never be used as a replacement for reducing your calorific intake and especially without your doctor being aware. Despite the assurances on the box, these tablets can have some very nasty side effects which you should be aware of including: hair loss, chest pains, depression and more.

One piece of advice is to never use these pills crushed up in any way in drinks or food, only make sure you take them with a large glass of water. It is recommended you drink plenty of water while taking weight loss diet pills owing to the fact they make you go to the toilet more frequently which means you can easily become dehydrated and that can cause serious problems.

An increase in the number of diet pills you take will not automatically improve the effectiveness of the tablets, although could in fact merely make the bad effects worse and place you in greater danger. Although you're taking these tablets, regular checks of your heart rate is important as it should be on or below 8 six beats per minute, however if it rises to over 90, which you will know because you're keeping a check then you should cease taking the weight loss tablets.

Like any other form of medication, weight loss diet pills will only work properly if the instructions are followed, but don't forget your doctor or dietitian will probably have more experience and will be able to guide you more fully. As some of these weight loss diet pills contain the appetite suppressant phenylpropanolamine, medical guidance would be worthwhile as there are reports which conflict about how long these tablets can be taken for before they pose a health risk.

For people considering this course of action, diet pills can be obtained over the counter or on prescription. The difference is that prescribed weight loss tablets are governed by the Federal Drug Administration because the use of these tablets is monitored and can only be advertised using strict regulations.

One of those tablets prescribed is Xenical and although it is licensed for extended use, negative aspects are still found especially with diarrhea and other related problems. Rather than take a pill, your nutritionist would of course prefer you decide to start a low fat diet as the tablets available over the counter are not regulated even though they are a foodstuff.

Non prescription weight loss diet pills aren't tested by any government department and they can cause serious problems if the person taking them hasn't asked for any advice and just accepted what they say in the instruction. All this worry is even more relevant if you look into your family history and find that it includes heart, blood pressure and thyroid problems as well as mental illness, stroke seizure as well as a prostate condition.

If you're trying to get pregnant, suspect or know that you're, they must also be avoided. Anyone with an allergy to the food dye tartrazine or to sulfites should also stay away from using weight loss diet pills as well under the under 18s and those over sixty particularly if they require the use of stimulants to replace exercise. Although you now have a greater understanding of what weight loss tablets are, this should be the time when you sit down and consider their use.
