P.O.R.N. Diets

I am coining this term as I feel some of the diets out there are so radical they need to be discussed in one place.

We here from our favorite celebrities daily and some of us live for this. We follow them on Twitter, talk about them on Bebo and MySpace or e mail each other about them especially when a new diet is talked about.

There have been some over the top radical diets in the past like the 'Air diet', not a very popular one for obvious reasons unlike the 'Chocolate' diet. Then there is the more main stream 'Atkins' diet or 'The Dash Diet' or even 'The South Beach Diet'. All have there plus and minus points and their advocates and nay sayers as well.

The trick when it comes to diets if there is a trick in selecting one would be to thoroughly research the topic. The mere fact that there literally are thousands of diets commercially available shown on television, billboards or even your local Chemist shop.

Here will be many, many articles pertaining to the topic of P.O.R.N. Diets circulating our media and your opinion on them is most welcome. Maybe you have been on one and would like to praise it or maybe warn others away from it. Whatever you may like to share, diet related, please do.

Regular Exercise + Healthy Diet = Lifelong Good Health

By Angela Giles

Life without good health is full of suffering. When one is healthy, one does not realize the benefits of maintaining it. A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. There is great energy, enthusiasm and verve with good health. One is able to effectively deal with the challenges of life.

When we are young, our body is naturally strong and healthy. But as we grow old, the bones and muscles start becoming weaker and the skin starts developing lines and wrinkles. This aging process can be delayed by regular exercise which helps to maintain fitness levels of the body. Exercise has many benefits and here the six most important ones.

1. Regular exercise keeps you lean and helps you to lose fat

2. Improves quality of sleep

3. Improves bone density and reduces the risk of falls and fractures

4. Cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, hypertension and even cancer can be kept at bay with exercise

5. Exercise improves psychological well-being

6. Maintains muscle strength for more years and prevents symptoms of aging

Experts advise a simple exercise schedule of 30 minutes for 5 days in a week. There is no need to join a gym and develop 6 pack abs. All you need is simple walking, climbing stairs and some aerobics.

The advances in science and technology have increased comfort and convenience at the cost of making us lazy. Lifts, cars, television, and microwaves simplify our life to a great extent but also degrade our health quotient.

If you do not make exercise a conscious choice, then you are liable to suffer from ill-health all your life. Hence, choose to walk when you can drive, choose to climb stairs when you can take the lift and choose to play some game instead of watching one on television.

It does not take genius to realize that the body uses food to produce energy for work. If you have the habit of consuming unhealthy food, then the body reacts by causing an increase in weight and other accompanying problems. Food is a direct factor influencing the body's health.

Learn about different food items, what they contain and how much of them are required by the body. Not all foods are alike. Some are rich in carbohydrates; others are rich in fats while some are rich in proteins. Consult a physician to find out whether you need any additional nutritional supplementation. It is wiser to develop healthy food and exercise habit while young and continue throughout life.
