It is largely anecdotal and with little scientific backing, but there are a handful of studies out there that show that the acai berry might have something to do with the improved sleep that people get when they are on the diet.
Specifically, there are two things that people claim to get counterpart their sleep when on the acai berry diet. First, they feel as though their sleep is far more restful at night, with relatively few interruptions and periods of waking when compared with what they would normally expect. At the same time, these people are also reporting that they wake up feeling far more refreshed thanks to the acai diet, a fact that does not necessarily follow since people that sleep better at night tend to wake up feeling better in the morning as well.
This particular claim is problematic, only because it is difficult to judge it. Specifically, the problem is in the area of knowing whether the sleep improvements are directly something that can be connected with the present of the acai berry, or rather a positive side effect of the weight loss and better fitness that people tend to have when they go on this particular diet. Even studies that have determined the sleep improvement correlation to be true have trouble with this fact because it is nearly impossible to tell which of those two factors are ultimately responsible for the sleep improvements.
At the end of the day though, it really doesn't matter which of those two cause better sleep. What matters is that the acai berry diet has been tied to a marked improvement in a person's sleep patterns and that is just one more reason why it is a worthwhile diet to try.
