P.O.R.N. Diets

I am coining this term as I feel some of the diets out there are so radical they need to be discussed in one place.

We here from our favorite celebrities daily and some of us live for this. We follow them on Twitter, talk about them on Bebo and MySpace or e mail each other about them especially when a new diet is talked about.

There have been some over the top radical diets in the past like the 'Air diet', not a very popular one for obvious reasons unlike the 'Chocolate' diet. Then there is the more main stream 'Atkins' diet or 'The Dash Diet' or even 'The South Beach Diet'. All have there plus and minus points and their advocates and nay sayers as well.

The trick when it comes to diets if there is a trick in selecting one would be to thoroughly research the topic. The mere fact that there literally are thousands of diets commercially available shown on television, billboards or even your local Chemist shop.

Here will be many, many articles pertaining to the topic of P.O.R.N. Diets circulating our media and your opinion on them is most welcome. Maybe you have been on one and would like to praise it or maybe warn others away from it. Whatever you may like to share, diet related, please do.

How the Jack Lalanne Diet Can Boost Your Health

By Paul Taylor

Jack Lalanne is thought by many to be the fitness guru of modern and old times. At 93, he is going strong like an eighteen year old boy. He is so physically and mentally fit that people find themselves being in envy of his lifestyle. There have been many copies of his style, fitness regime and technique but not many have met with success.

He has been concerned about his fitness for many years and as such works out for two hours every morning. His diet consists of high doses of vitamins and foods that contain high levels of minerals and enzymes. Instead of chicken and red meats he consumes at least 50g of soya protein a day. His is particularly against any white, refined sugar in the diet and believes this is one of the causes of health problems in the western diet.

Interestingly, the majority of the protein in his diet actually comes from eggs with a lesser amount from fish. One of the best sources of protein, as well as fatty acids, is fish.

Jack found that he was addicted to junk food and sugar at a very early age, but soon decided to give them up. He turned his energy to health clubs and onto dieting from about the age of fifteen. He does not feel these all low carbohydrate diets are beneficial although he does recommend including natural grains, such as brown rice and whole wheat, in your diet.

He advises to eat at least ten pieces of fresh, raw vegetables a day. The reason for this is that fresh vegetables contain high concentrations of important vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, iron and calcium.

Jack has not eaten any deserts now for around seventy five years as they are high in sugar and calories. He advises gradually replacing all processed foods with more fish and raw vegetables and likewise consuming fruit juices rather than fizzy drinks and colas. All junk foods should be avoided and again replaced by health foods.

Foods that contain high levels f fat and oil should be avoided as they are a common cause of obesity. Dairy products like butter and cheese are an example of this as they can lead to a build up of fatty tissue. Water is very healthy and it is advised to drink about six to seven glasses a day.

As a testimony to his almost super human fitness, Jack has broken many records. If you decide to follow any of his plans you would be taking a step to feeling much healthier.
