P.O.R.N. Diets

I am coining this term as I feel some of the diets out there are so radical they need to be discussed in one place.

We here from our favorite celebrities daily and some of us live for this. We follow them on Twitter, talk about them on Bebo and MySpace or e mail each other about them especially when a new diet is talked about.

There have been some over the top radical diets in the past like the 'Air diet', not a very popular one for obvious reasons unlike the 'Chocolate' diet. Then there is the more main stream 'Atkins' diet or 'The Dash Diet' or even 'The South Beach Diet'. All have there plus and minus points and their advocates and nay sayers as well.

The trick when it comes to diets if there is a trick in selecting one would be to thoroughly research the topic. The mere fact that there literally are thousands of diets commercially available shown on television, billboards or even your local Chemist shop.

Here will be many, many articles pertaining to the topic of P.O.R.N. Diets circulating our media and your opinion on them is most welcome. Maybe you have been on one and would like to praise it or maybe warn others away from it. Whatever you may like to share, diet related, please do.

What Are The Best Healthy Snacks For Weight Loss?

The truth about healthy snacks for weight loss is that they are vital to eat during the day. Research has discovered that people who do not snack consume more food at mealtimes. People who do not snack end up consuming more fat and calories than those people who do snack between mealtimes. People still wonder though what the benefits are to healthy snacking and what kinds of foods are actually considered 'healthy.'

The most beneficial thing to healthy snack eating is that you do not binge later on foods that are unhealthy to curb your hunger. If you are suffering from a growling stomach or hunger pangs, then you should snack now versus waiting for the next mealtime. Hunger management through the day is important not only for proper eating but also for maintenance of blood sugar levels. So, how and when should you consume your snacks?

Whole grain foods are great to eat because they are rich in carbohydrates and fiber, giving you an instant boost of energy that lasts until the next meal. Great choices for healthy snacking are whole grain crackers, whole grain pretzels and other whole grain snacks. You can find these foods in the snack aisle and organic section of your grocery store.

Other obvious choices of healthy snacks for weight loss are fruits and vegetables. They are low in calorie, fat free, and are loaded with all the vitamins and minerals that the body needs. A word of warning, though; if you decide to have some salad for snacks, go easy on the salad dressing.

Nuts and seeds are a fabulous way to snack. They are very rich in protein but beware because the calories can add up quickly if you do not proportion your snacking on them.

Low fat dairy foods, like cheese and light yogurt are great choices for healthy sancks between mealtimes. These foods have a lot of benefits and are packed with tons of calcium.

What times are the best times for these snacks? On the average, most people have breakfast at around 8 am and in this case, a 10:30 am snack should keep you going until a 1:00 pm lunchtime. Afternoon snacks are usually eaten around 3:30 pm, and then it's dinner time at 6:00 or 6:30 pm. This sample schedule shows that the ideal healthy snack is eaten within 2-3 hours before and after a meal. This would allow you to eat smaller and healthier, while keeping you full enough to go about your daily activities.

As you are on your way to losing more weight, it is vital that you snack on healthy foods. If you wait to eat until mealtime, you will become one of the millions of people out there who binge on unsatisfying and unhealthy foods at meals because they did not consume a snack. Your blood sugar levels can become unstable, causing other symptoms physically and emotionally. Research studies have discovered that when people snack they consume less in calories and fat, than people who don't snack. So, if you are struggling to lose weight or are just starting, then healthy snacking is your best course of action. You will find that you are happier, more focused and have a clearer state of mind. This is because you are not focused on a growling stomach or dealing with unstable blood sugar levels.

By keeping yourself focused on the end goal, you'll end up thinner and healthier. Healthy snacks for weight loss are the way to go.
