P.O.R.N. Diets

I am coining this term as I feel some of the diets out there are so radical they need to be discussed in one place.

We here from our favorite celebrities daily and some of us live for this. We follow them on Twitter, talk about them on Bebo and MySpace or e mail each other about them especially when a new diet is talked about.

There have been some over the top radical diets in the past like the 'Air diet', not a very popular one for obvious reasons unlike the 'Chocolate' diet. Then there is the more main stream 'Atkins' diet or 'The Dash Diet' or even 'The South Beach Diet'. All have there plus and minus points and their advocates and nay sayers as well.

The trick when it comes to diets if there is a trick in selecting one would be to thoroughly research the topic. The mere fact that there literally are thousands of diets commercially available shown on television, billboards or even your local Chemist shop.

How Fruit Can Benefit Your Health

Fruit is one of the most significant providers of nutrients and minerals in our diet. However, a lot of people overlook this and persist in consuming vast quantities of protein and starch. The result of this is an increasing incidences of diseases, such as diabetes, and obesity. Many people enquire what are the benefits from eating fruit?

The following benefits are:

1. It is extremely easy to prepare. It usually just requires washing, maybe peeling and eating. There is no cooking involved and, therefore, can save on other chores like washing pots and pans.

2. Many fruits look very appetizing, with their bright colors, which is great for kids and they also usually taste as good as they look. A lot of people would actually consider fruit a treat or a desert.

3. Fruit needs less energy to digest and absorb in the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, a lot of people discover they feel more energized and fresh and report needing less sleep.

4. It is very hard to become fat from following a diet consisting mainly of fruit. The result of this is that the body's fat level will often fall leaving a sensation of being lean and healthy.

5. Fruit has a high fiber content. It can, therefore, help with the transition of food through the gastrointestinal tract and can help in preventing and relieving symptoms that affect the gut such as constipation. When people suffer with constipation a lot of the toxic waste sits stagnant in the bowel which can get absorbed into the system. As a result of this, these toxins can cause illness, lethargy and the feeling of being generally unwell. Eating a fruit diet can prevent this from occurring.

6. The digestion of fruit leaves behind very little in the way of waste products in the body. This can subsequently reduce the wear and tear on various organs and reduce the rate of aging.

7. With a diet of mainly fruit your body will cleanse and detoxify itself regularly. Over many years, the waste products from the digestion of starches, dairy products and proteins will slowly accumulate over a number years. Eating fruit for only a couple of days can help in detoxifying and getting rid of these harmful waste products. This can further lead to the sensation of well being and a reduction in the damage on the body.

If you are suffering from poor health or are looking to get fit and feel healthy then increasing the amount of fruit in your diet is a good step to get closer to your goal.
