P.O.R.N. Diets

I am coining this term as I feel some of the diets out there are so radical they need to be discussed in one place.

We here from our favorite celebrities daily and some of us live for this. We follow them on Twitter, talk about them on Bebo and MySpace or e mail each other about them especially when a new diet is talked about.

There have been some over the top radical diets in the past like the 'Air diet', not a very popular one for obvious reasons unlike the 'Chocolate' diet. Then there is the more main stream 'Atkins' diet or 'The Dash Diet' or even 'The South Beach Diet'. All have there plus and minus points and their advocates and nay sayers as well.

The trick when it comes to diets if there is a trick in selecting one would be to thoroughly research the topic. The mere fact that there literally are thousands of diets commercially available shown on television, billboards or even your local Chemist shop.

Here will be many, many articles pertaining to the topic of P.O.R.N. Diets circulating our media and your opinion on them is most welcome. Maybe you have been on one and would like to praise it or maybe warn others away from it. Whatever you may like to share, diet related, please do.

Step by Step to Effective Weight Loss

By Elise Peters

It can be intimidating to follow a weight loss plan, but it is especially difficult if you strive for too much and set yourself goals that are impossible to attain. The many changes that you have to commit to and the restraint you will be mustering just to stick to a weight loss plan mean that the best way to do it is a step at a time.

For the majority of people conducting a weight loss program in abrupt big measures is not the correct approach. There are personalities and attitudes of people that have to be considered for the weight loss program to be successful. Some people would feel that the trade-off of impending self sacrifice might not fully warrant their expectations in following the weight loss program.

Pacing lifestyle changes and doing things at your own speed is the way to go. Taking the challenges of the program in small chunks is the only way for a weight loss program to be successful. In weight loss the long term result is more important. As long as you get to your goals, the length of time it takes you should not be so important - within reason of course.

This is a more conservative approach into imposing change. For the weight loss program to work the person following the program will definitely make a few lifestyle changes to both lose the weight, and to then keep it off. There is no point losing the weight only to gain it all back again in a matter of weeks.

Another issue among people wanting to lose weight is finding the motivation to see through the weight loss program. Mind-setting is just as important as goal setting. If working for a better physique and appearance is not enough motivation, then other concerns like having a healthier heart and winning the admiration of the people around you should provide the additional encouragement. You may even want to forego vanity at some point so that you wont lose focus of your set goals.

So how would you make those small changes that you would employ from day one? There is no real secret - take in less fat and burn more. First is how you eat. One way is to reduce weight is to reduce your food intake, or at least reduce your carbohydrate intake. If you cannot abruptly change your eating habits, at least reduce them until such time that you have made the significant reduction to maintain the weight you are targeting for. Usually though you can eat plenty of food as long as you maintain a healthy diet.

To assist further with your weight loss furnace you will need to incorporate some exercise into your life. You don't need to turn into an olympic athelete overnight. Start off gradually - perhaps just parking the car a bit further from work. Doing some rigorous housework or gardening on a regular basis might help you kill two birds with one stone. Or find a hobby to help you exercise - such as badminton for example.

It is important that when you decide on something, you clearly identify your goals and you are aware of the circumstances that need to be done to attain them. You should also be realistic in your goal setting so that you can feel satisfied when you finally reach them. The important thing is to stick to a weight loss program/weight maintenance program and not lose sight of the things that you want in your life.
