P.O.R.N. Diets

I am coining this term as I feel some of the diets out there are so radical they need to be discussed in one place.

We here from our favorite celebrities daily and some of us live for this. We follow them on Twitter, talk about them on Bebo and MySpace or e mail each other about them especially when a new diet is talked about.

There have been some over the top radical diets in the past like the 'Air diet', not a very popular one for obvious reasons unlike the 'Chocolate' diet. Then there is the more main stream 'Atkins' diet or 'The Dash Diet' or even 'The South Beach Diet'. All have there plus and minus points and their advocates and nay sayers as well.

The trick when it comes to diets if there is a trick in selecting one would be to thoroughly research the topic. The mere fact that there literally are thousands of diets commercially available shown on television, billboards or even your local Chemist shop.

Here will be many, many articles pertaining to the topic of P.O.R.N. Diets circulating our media and your opinion on them is most welcome. Maybe you have been on one and would like to praise it or maybe warn others away from it. Whatever you may like to share, diet related, please do.

By Robert Varnum

A topic that is important to a lot of people is Healthy eating. Here are some healthier diet tips.

Americans need to start eating healthy diet food. The American people weigh more these days. People eat too much junk food and not enough vegetables and fruit. We Americans need to eat more vegetables and fruit. We need to incorporate a few very simple change in our eating habits.

The average American knows vegetables and fruit are very important to us for good nutrition for that reason most of us try to eat right. Studies have shown that if we eat more vegetables and fruit we will decrease our chances of getting heart disease, stroke or cancer.

Do not forget to eat all your colors because that will ensure you receive the proper number of minerals and vitamins. The deeper the color in vegetables and fruit means they have more nutrients in them.

A good thing about vegetables and fruit is that if we eat enough of them it will be good for our weight program. Many fruits and vegetables are full of water and fiber so when we eat them we get the felling of fullness faster. And some vegetables and fruit are low in calories. Making a habit of eating more vegetables and fruit will increase your appetite for them also. So when you increase the number of vegetables and fruit you are eating, you are substituting for the high calorie junk food that you used to eat, so that will decrease your over all calorie intake.

You can add extra vegetables and fruit to your favorite foods that already have them in them. First thing in the morning you could add extra fruit to your cereal or add more vegetables to an omelet. To meals that are loaded with pasta and rice you could add vegetables to them and also you could add more of your favorite vegetables to stir fry dishes and soups. As an alternative to high fat snacks you could purchase pre washed vegetables and fruit for your snacks. You would be more likely to eat healthy snacks if they were as available as the convenient junk food snacks.

At mealtime place vegetables and fruit on your plate and always make sure you keep fresh fruit at home. For work you could have a small bag of fruit with some yogurt for dipping or you could take some vegetables with low fat dip for your mid day snack. For snacking emergencies you could have some dried fruit in the drawer of your desk.

Some restaurants have healthy alternative menus. Change from ordering French fries to an order of sliced apples or you could order a bowl of fruit and order chicken wraps instead of a burger. Order a smoothie in place of ice cream for your healthy treat.

Eating more vegetables and fruit will make you healthier. So eat more vegetables and fruit in your daily eating plan and it will do wanders for your well being and will aid in loosing those unwanted pounds.
